 LB Greenwich: Extension to CCTV in Well Hall Road

£49,000.Coverage of a parade of shops with flats above and on-street parking. The target area will also include coverage of the site of the Stephen Lawrence Memorial. Area suffers from high levels of vehicle crime, shoplifting, burglary, assault and criminal damage SRB funding aimed at tackling social exclusion, including supporting racial minorities through development of a more harmonious community.

£17,000 Coverage of 786 households on two housing estates. Main crime problems in both are assault, criminal damage and robbery.Range of regeneration initiatives on-going in the area as well as others aimed at tackling crime and disorder

 LB Wandsworth: Extension to Battersea Park CCTV System

£73,000 (£16,000 other funding).Coverage of area to which crime has been displaced from other parts of the park that are covered by CCTV.The system will also cover residential road. Main crime problems are car crime, assaults, robbery, drugs and sex offences. Help points are to be installed financed from other funding mentioned above.

 Hounslow Town Centre Extension

This bid is for 8 CCTV cameras to extend the existing system to cover
'hot spots' including two town centre car parks, main commuter
routes, transport links and the bus garage area. Problems include
vehicle crime, theft and assault. £170,000 awarded (£15,000 from
other sources).

 

 The Crystal Palace Partnership

The bid is for a comprehensive network of 34 permanently located CCTV surveillance cameras, deployed at strategic positions in Crystal
Palace, Penge, Anerley, West Norwood and Upper Norwood to provide targeted visual information to existing Council control room and associated Police divisional command centres. The bid claims to
provide an innovative community based solution to identified crime
problems in a residential and business community bordered by three
Borough Councils, and complements a wide range of on-going
regeneration and Police initiatives in the area. £1,376,629 awarded.

 Brixton Town Centre Extension

This bid covers the streets in Brixton town centre immediately
leading off from Brixton Road where the existing CCTV system is
located. It also covers the surrounding social housing estates. 48
cameras are planned alongside improved lighting. Residents are
particularly concerned about the increased levels of drug
trafficking, graffiti, burglaries, street crime, criminal damage and
illegal dumping. £786,950 awarded (£167,200 other funding).

 

 The West End CCTV Scheme

The bid area covers South Soho, Regent Street, China Town and
Leicester Square. In addition to the host of entertainment
facilities, the area has a significant and growing residential
population. The bid proposes the deployment of permanently located
CCTV cameras, and a complementary portable CCTV system. £1,205,000 awartded (£205,000 from other sources).

 Camden Town Centre Extension and Centralised Control Centre

This bid seeks funding for an extension of the existing scheme and
provision of a centralised control room to monitor and strategically
develop and manage CCTV across the Borough. The bid area covers a major tourist area, one of Camden's three main shopping areas, has a
proliferation of pubs, clubs and restaurants and encompasses three
London Underground stations. £598,000 awarded.
