 Bath & NE Somerset: Keynsham Centre.

£60,000 (£20,500 other funding). Coverage of car park in which, over the last year, 50% of car crime in the town was committed. Other measures proposed as well as CCTV to support Secured Car Park Status. Proposal will support project to increase economic activity in the town.

 Bristol CC: Kingsdown.

£267,500 (£200,000 other funding) Coverage includes 350 households and 3 car parks. Main crime problems are vehicle crime, theft, assault and robbery. There is also a high fear of crime. Proposals in hand to provide door entry systems and generally improve the environment on the estate.

 Forest of Dean DC: Forest of Dean Mobile CCTV Scheme.

£32,056. Scheme will address vehicle crime, criminal damage, burglary and drug related crime. Wide range of measures in support include making car parks more secure and youth related projects.

£44,900. Coverage of secluded car park. Main problems are car crime, criminal damage, car racing and disorder. Area is being upgraded to improve the environment and encourage greater use of shops and car park.

 Taunton Deane BC: Town Centre Car Parks, Taunton.

£64,000 (£41,700 other funding). Coverage of 4 car parks and provision of permanent link between CCTV control room and police station. Reduction in incidents in other car parks covered by current CCTV system. Bid supported by other improvements to car parks and progress on Secured Car Park Status.

 Poole Town Centre Car Park Link Scheme

The bid aims to provide coverage to all town centre car parks, transport links and important tourist and recreation facilities. The proposal is for 14 fixed CCTV cameras, 2 mobiles, transmission links and control room adaptations. The proposal should have a significant impact on vehicle crime. £477,680 awarded (£55,000 from other sources).

 

 Turlin Moor Residential Scheme, Poole

The bid is for 6 cameras covering over 1,000 dwellings on a housing estate. The area has benefited from SRB funding. Due to crime and fear of crime, residents are inhibited from using transport and community facilities. Vehicle crime is high and there are problems due to burglary and violent crime. £477, 680 awarded (£12,500 from other sources).

 

 The Weymouth CCTV system

The bid is part of a comprehensive programme of crime reduction measures in the town centre, along the seafront and in the car parks. A central control room is to be created to provide 24 hour monitoring. The proposal is for 22 permanently located CCTV cameras and the provision of a fibre optic network system. The major problems in the area include vehicle crime and crime associated with drug and alcohol abuse. £453,015 awarded (£15,525 from other sources).

 

 Bath University Park and Ride

The bid is to install 5 cameras at the main car park for the University and to enhance and modernise the lighting, improve transmission links and improve the control room. £114,475 awarded (£38,225 from other sources).

 

 Falmouth Town Centre and the Beacon & Truro Town Centre

The proposal is to establish a multi-agency monitoring and personal alarm service and to further extend coverage to car parks, residential and community facilities in the area, requiring 20 new CCTV cameras and 5 replacements. The bid will combine the schemes in Truro and Falmouth producing much needed savings in running costs. Good vehicle crime impact. £643,635 awarded.
