Comments: RFID adjournment debate in Parliament

We need to separate good applications of RFID and other identity and location aware technologies from those that join up too many aspects of our lives. The key for me is to get people aware of both the technologies and the threats.

I really hope that Tom can break through the noise of post top up fees and pre Hutton!

There is unlikely to be much more than the echo of his own voice in the chamber of the House of Commons when he speaks, and the mainstream media will probably stick to their "yah boo" political agendas and vested interests.

In order to put other surveillance technologies
into a civilised context, shouldn't the debate actually be on an enforceable statutory Privacy Law in the UK, the principles of which could be applied to all these new technologies as they come along ?
