Dover, the Gateway to /from Europe used to be guarded by the famous castle. Nowadays, the town has vehicle number plate recognition systems at the port, Trafficmaster on the main exit roads, and a town centre CCTV scheme. Note the somewhat unusual clear "death star" dome, which shows the full engineering glory of the camera mounting inside. | |

The Pan Tilt Zoom of the cameras in Dover seems to be quite aggressive. Is this because there are too few cameras to cover the whole area, or is it intended to be a deterrent in lieu of an adequate number of CCTV Surveillance warning signs ? |
