Comments

Our Draft ID Card Bill comments on this section:

"How exactly is death meant to be recorded onto the National ID Register ?

Will petty officials or private sector funeral directors end up trying to take Biometric Identifier readings from corpses ?

There do not seem to be any mechanisms to correct mistakes regarding missing persons or people assumed to be dead but who are not.

c.f. comments on Section 28 "Identity documents for the purposes of s. 27" above, regarding fake Death Certificates, which are not classed as Identity Documents, but which could be used to harrass people by invalidating their National ID register entry, or in order to steal via inheritance fraud, their property or possessions, especially if they are old or infirm."
